Balneotherapy is a field of physiotherapy where the healing properties of natural resources are used, i.e. mineral waters, spa gases, peloids and climatic factors. Its origins are traced back to antiquity. This method of treatment was used by the precursor of modern medicine - Hippocrates. The name comes from the Latin word "balneum" which means bathhouse. It is recommended in therapy and in the prevention of chronic diseases and is intended to alleviate pain.
Due to the availability of medicinal water free from microbiological and chemical contamination, this type of therapy is carried out in spas. Our facility located in the heart of the Jizera Mountains has direct access to the source of healing radium water used in balneotherapy.

There is a distinguished effect of peloid through heat, organic and inorganic components contained in it, and adsorption. Due to such a wide range of effects, the treatment is heavily burdening the body. In the case of peloid compresses, heat transfer into the body was observed, and thus the thermal effect not only affects the subcutaneous tissues, but also the deeper organs. By increasing the blood flow rate, better tissue oxygenation and nutrition is achieved. At the same time, waste products are removed faster.
